I’m not going to lie, this paper seems very difficult to me and I’m not looking forward to it. I want to use The Vampire Diaries with the thesis of vampires representing something humans want but never have, immortality, youth, powers, and being “perfect”. I am having the hardest time with this though, I don’t know what to research in the library on this sort of thing to help support me, and I was thinking about linking it to Twilight with the same thesis. I was also leaning towards something that has to do with why something so perfect would fall in love with a human and all their flaws. I know these are both different but I really really do need help with this paper. If you guys could help me with which one I should write about that would be great! I can figure the rest out I hope once I have a strong thesis to go off of! Laura also helped me with some questions, here they are: What is so attractive about vampires? Why is Elena attracted to Stefan or Damon? What do they represent that the average teenage football player doesn't? I want to incorporate them as well into it but this is just so challenging to me. All your help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!! |

Vampires, I thought would be a pretty easy topic to talk about but if you really think about it, you have a lot of television shows, and movies dealing with them today. This may be the view of society and what they see vampires as, immortality and power, but texts from the earlier in the days may say differently. I plan on taking in the views of people in earlier society and of society today.
ReplyDeleteGreat topic! I think you could definitely go a lot of ways with this one. Vampires are the new "hip" monster now a days with so much about them. You can choose to go the classic route as well if you didn't want to go with the obvious vampire diaries and twilight. Maybe dracula? Good luck!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love reading and learning about vampires. There is something very magical and romantic about them. However I am choosing Option 1 because I did not like trying to analyze Frankenstein. I just want to read about and enjoy the stories, not try and found out what the meaning is all about. I feel like it took away the "magic" to Frankenstein. Good luck!
